Resort 76 By Shimon Wincelberg Directed by: Bruce Cohen Resort 76, based on A Cat in the Ghetto by Rachmil Bryks, takes us to a forced labor textile mill in the Lodz Ghetto during World War II. The play focuses on Blaustein, the reclamation factory head, and the workers under his charge. This motley and compelling crew of characters, who both live and work in this industrial "resort" struggle to survive and find hope in the face of darkness. Will the relentless oppression and starvation destroy their faith in God? Their love of life? Their ability to resist? Punctuated with moments of terror and dark comedy, Resort 76 is a poignant snapshot and compelling commentary on what could happen if we allow ourselves to forget. "Compassion and community, trust and sacrifice, betrayal and redemption." - Daily Herald
