UW-Whitewater pauses to recognize and celebrate Black History Month. The nation has adopted — and the university purposefully celebrates — February to honor and respect the accomplishments of African Americans and their contribution to American history.
Focusing on progress is the overarching theme of this year’s Black History Month celebration. We are elated that Mandela Barnes, the lieutenant governor of the State of Wisconsin, will be our featured speaker. Understanding our history better situates us as a society to understand our past mistakes as we strive for a better nation.
Complimentary parking is available in lots 12 and 14. Paid meter parking is available in lot 12A. View the campus map for directions.
