What was life like before fast food and drive thrus? What did kids in the 1800s eat and where did they get it? Experience what it took for Wisconsin's early setters to get food on the table. Work in our heirloom gardens — then help gather the seasonal produce to prepare and enjoy a 19th century-inspired meal over a wood-burning cook stove. We welcome your help with farm chores like checking the hen house for eggs, churning butter, grinding cornmeal and hauling the water to wash up. You'll enjoy fresh-brewed mint tea, velvet cake, and a tasty noonday meal, prepared by the best of chefs ... you! Share your knowledge with a recipe book you'll create to remember the day.
