Elements for Success: Ed Karrels - Computing the 10 Quadrillionth Digit of Pi

Innovation Services Ed Karrels, formerly of Google, will join us for Elements for Success on Thursday, March 26th from 5:30 pm ? 7:00 pm at the Whitewater University Technology Park Innovation Center. After retiring in 2005, Ed Karrels became a graduate student in computer engineering at Santa Clara University and developed a program to break the record for computing Pi. He now holds the record at the 10 quadrillionth digit. A graduate of Fort Atkinson High School and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, he has established scholarships at both institutions.
