Description
The Book Buddies program will enhance children's reading skills and love of reading through materials and activities that encourage mutual respect, acceptance, and kindness.
Choose the program for your child's age:
Preschool Pals
A "story time" geared to ages 3-4. Trained leaders will share wholesome stories with children and guide them through related movement and craft activities. Healthy snacks will be served. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to attend with their children.
Reading Buddies
Children in Grades K-3 are paired with an adult reading buddy (usually a senior retiree) trained for the program. Through reading and discussing books together, the supportive relationship that develops between "buddies" will help children improve reading skills and deepen their love of reading. A healthy snack will be served.
